# Generating mockups for existing shopify products

If you have products already in your Shopify store that weren't created through Designs, you can generate WeScale mockups for them directly from the Products tab — a quicker option than the full **Mockup Generation** flow, with the same trade-off you'll see elsewhere in Designs: less control in exchange for less manual work.

Compared to Mockup Generation, this option:

* Only works with one mockup pack at a time (set in Settings), supporting up to **16** color variants
* Doesn't allow unique placement for each color variant

If you need **multiple mockup packs** or **more control over placement**, use **Mockup Generation** instead.

## How to generate

Select the product, then **⋯ → Generate mockups**. This uses your brand's saved garment, color palette, and mockup pack.

## Before you can generate

* The product must be an **existing Shopify product linked to a Printify product**. An unlinked Shopify product isn't eligible — products created via Designs already get mockups automatically and don't need this.
* Your brand setup (garment, mockup pack) must be complete.
* At least one of the product's colors must be supported by your brand's color palette _and_ have a suitable product photo. Colors outside your palette, or missing a photo, keep their existing store image instead. If none of the product's colors are supported, generation can't run at all.
* The product can't already be generating mockups — an already-running product is skipped if selected again.
* If there are unsent mockups already pending from a previous generation, running it again **replaces that pending set** — it does not immediately overwrite what's currently live on Shopify.
