Why is my shipping profile changing when products are pushed to Shopify?
This is a known issue with Printify. When publishing to Shopify, Printify automatically creates a new shipping profile with its own settings and attaches products to it, instead of respecting the shipping profile you've configured — regardless of what you have set as your default in Printify.
How WeScale fixes this automatically
Whether you're using Import Designs or the Designs tool, WeScale handles this behind the scenes:
- Printify publishes the product and (as usual) attaches it to the wrong, Printify-created shipping profile
- WeScale automatically moves the product from that profile to your correct shipping profile
- You may still see the extra Printify-created shipping profile in Shopify, but it will have no products attached to it — they'll all have been moved to the correct profile automatically
Setting your shipping profile
Designs: Set your shipping profile during onboarding, or update it anytime in Settings.
- Import Designs: Follow these steps in Step 2 (Choose a Product) of the Import Designs wizard:
- In Step 2, you'll see an option to edit the selected preset.
- On the Edit Preset pop-up, scroll down the page until you see the option "Publish to Shopify". After you enable the option, you'll be able to choose which shipping profile you want the product to be published under. Select "General profile".
- Save the changes.
- Proceed with the next steps. In the Preview & Configure step, make sure you enable the Publish to Shopify option.
WeScale can only apply this automatic fix if you publish through the app using the options above. If you publish directly through Printify, the fix will not be applied and you will need to manually move the products to the correct shipping profile.
Manual fix (if needed)
If products are already attached to the wrong Printify-created shipping profile in Shopify, you can fix this manually by deleting that profile. Products attached to it will automatically fall back to your General Profile.
